Hello!

Note: This website is very much in construction still.

Mushboom is a take on Bomberman. Free to play and still in development! It’ll be available with cross-play here as an html5 game and as an Android download.

Right now multiplayer with real players is fully functional, NPC logic is still in progress. There will also be better and more character customization options soon enough.

It’ll take a bit for the game to load for the first time and it might not load in certain browsers, Brave works for me. Keep in mind this is a test build, it will have bugs, it won’t look pretty, it is work in progress!

You can head to my bluesky account to see some updates for now !

Here’s the latest preview video:

You need to delete site cache to get the latest version of the game after an update.
If it only loads a black screen try a different browser, like Brave.

Game features

Note that all the art assets and UI are in constant progress. I’m focusing on getting all the main functionality in before diving into making the art as good as I want it to be. So this game will be looking “ugly” (for my expectations) for a while but it’s temporary.

Done:

  • Full playable matches against other players
  • Playable on web on both pc and mobile
  • Join lobbies using a short code
  • Supports both local and online multiplayer, can be mixed
  • Shared screen on mobile for two players
  • Level editor (Dec 2025)
  • Online accounts!
  • Save / load data online and offline (Jan 2026)
  • Character editor (Feb 2026)
  • Much improved UI, especially for mobile
  • First person mode (June 2026)

In progress:

  • CPU players (with 3 difficulty presets)
  • Music and sound effects (working with Scott Thompson for this!)
  • Cosmetics for your character (this will be in-progress for a long time)
  • Better vfx
  • Art improvements
  • List of available public lobbies
  • Friends list

To come for V1:

  • Emotes
  • Updated visuals for pickups
  • Tutorial info-graphic
  • Maybe dev-log breakdowns on how I made certain systems for other developers
  • More levels
  • Color blind accessibility settings
  • Standalone downloadable from here and some Android stores (most likely not in Google Playstore)

Then comes V2:

  • More accessibility settings. I’ll try my best to add features that help blind players be able to competitively play this 1st person mode with their friends.
  • More cosmetics and emotes
  • A story mode
  • Downloadable from Steam
